| | The barriers across the world are gradually diminishing under the changed economic and technological scenario. This is posing newer challenges to manage the emerging situations, and thus, requiring newer paradigm to match with the reality more effectively. The wind of liberalization and globalization is creating a fast changing business scenario. This is leading to the emergence of some critical managerial issues and the development of many new management approaches. The emerging management issues signify change, complexity, and multiplicity demanding high degree of responsiveness, adaptiveness, and openness in management. A radical change is taking place in management thought shattering the older paradigms leading to evolution of a new management paradigm. Such a sudden change in the management thinking is creating a new management jungle. Though apparently all the emerging approaches are different, the bottom line is flexibility. All these approaches are creating flexibility in the organization to meet the new challenges which are posed by a liberalized business environment, which itself connotes flexibility. In order to enrich the management paradigm to meet the current reality and the challenges of the new millennium a pressing need was felt by various management professionals to have a common forum for interactive participation and learning.
